About This Spot

Stepping into Da Edy, tucked quietly just off the bustling Via del Babuino, feels like discovering a thoughtfully kept secret in the heart of Rome. The pace here slows, inviting you to settle in beneath warm, rustic lighting and walls that carry the charm of a classic Roman trattoria without pretense. It’s a place where conversations meander as easily as the local wines flow, and the subtle hum of the city outside softens into something more intimate.

From the moment you arrive, Da Edy wraps you in a genuine sense of hospitality — not the polished formality of a tourist spot, but the familiar warmth of a neighborhood restaurant where everyone can find a welcome. The atmosphere is unhurried, softly punctuated by the clinking of glasses and the quiet moments customers share over plates of food crafted with care. Here, the timeless appeal of Roman cuisine is more than a promise; it’s an unfolding experience where each dish explores tradition with a love that’s evident in every bite.

The menu offers a subtle journey through flavors that feel both grounded and evocative. You might find yourself savoring the comforting richness of fresh pasta paired with simple, elegant sauces, or delighting in seasonal vegetables prepared with a light hand and an eye for balance. Homemade tiramisu and delicate sorbetto whisper the day’s end with sweetness that’s just right, never overwhelming.

What lingers longest at Da Edy is the sense of belonging — a quietly special corner of Rome that invites you back not just for its food or location near the Spanish Steps, but for the moments shared around its tables. It’s a place where language barriers gently dissolve into shared smiles and where the beauty of Roman everyday life feels just a little closer, a little more immediate.

It is a charming place with delicious food in a great location. It’s rare to find such a good restaurant right in the city center. The staff is very friendly, the food is tasty and of very high quality. We discovered this place on the first day of our stay in Rome and kept coming back every day.

We celebrated my wife's birthday here and it was one of the best dinners we had in Rome. The food and service was excellent! A quaint restaurant on a side-street, near the Spanish Steps. A must-try when in the area.

There is a reason why pasta is from Italy. it’s the best pasta we have had (including other countries of course) and we will probably never be ever to eat pasta again. Thank you so much

The food was absolutely amazing, and the atmosphere was exceptional: authentic and incredibly homey. It wasn’t just the warm and welcoming staff that made it special, but also the beautiful decor that added so much character. We truly felt like we had stumbled upon a hidden gem. I recommend making an effort to speak with them in Italian if you are a tourist!

Genuinely the best meal of the whole trip!! Such an authentic italian family meal. Everything tastes so fresh and homemade. Not touristy at all. Such a hidden gem. 100000% recommend. A must try when in Rome. The gnocchi and carbonara were to die for.
